Walking on Broadway Street easily brings to mind images of New York’s iconic theatre district, renowned for its dazzling lights and grand performances. However, this exhibition redefines Broadway, viewing it not only as a symbol of cultural influence but also as a common street scene weaving through the boroughs of Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island, and the Bronx. We are on Broadway to enjoy a great show; we are on Broadway to get another day’s groceries. The “On Broadway Street” group exhibition invites viewers into a dialogue about living in New York City, from young guns who have just graduated from art colleges to professional artists who have been living in the city for over ten years, through a series of artist panel discussions and media promotion.

Sunny Moxin Chen(b.1996, Moscow) is a Chinese multi-disciplinary artist, educator, and curator who relocated to the U.S. in 2013 and is currently based in Brooklyn, NY. Her artistic exploration revolves around the intricate dynamics of home, interpersonal relationships, and spiritual presence within physical spaces. In a world marked by perpetual flux, Chen’s creations aim to evoke a profound sense of existence, belonging, and identity, inviting viewers into a deeply personal journey of introspection. By adeptly blending paint with everyday found materials, each imbued with its own history, emotion, and vitality, Chen crafts vessels of memory and significance. Through geometric and biomorphic shapes, she establishes an aesthetic that is both artificial and organic, resonating with the complexities of human experience. Chen’s work emphasizes the profound impact of our choices on our surroundings and self-perception. With a meticulous focus on the interplay between the material and the spiritual, she prompts contemplation on their interconnectedness, advocating for a harmonious equilibrium between these two realms. Through her art, Chen invites viewers to explore the intricate relationship between the tangible and the intangible, ultimately fostering a deeper understanding of the world around them.
Chen’s works were recently shown at the Beijing Exhibition Center in China, Erie Art Museum, Pennsylvania, Yiwei Gallery, Los Angeles and Distillery Gallery in Boston. She won the “Best in Show” prize at Main Street Arts (NY) and has shown works at Abigail Ogilvy Gallery (MA), Morgan Lehman Gallery (NY), School of Visual Arts (NY), Fowler-Kellogg Art Center (NY), Piano Craft Gallery (MA) and so on. She was an artist-in-resident with full awards at Soaring Gardens, PA, and Chautauqua Institution, NY in 2022. She holds MFA Painting from Boston University with Merit Scholarship & Social Impact award and BFA dual degree in Painting & Studio for Interrelated Media from Massachusetts College of Art & Design with Presidential Scholarship & George Nick Prize.
Shiqing Chen is a new media artist and designer based in Brooklyn. Her work and research primarily focus on using data as an entry point to explore cross-media storytelling and visual communication through changes in time. She currently focuses on temporary urban spaces and the relationship between people and modern environments. Her works have been featured and selected in CICA Museum (KR), CULTUREHUB Re-Fest (US), PRINT Magazine (US), Other Islands Book Fair (US), AIAP International Motion Art Awards 9 (Selected Winner), Gymnopedie Brooklyn (US), Al-Tiba9 Art Magazine Issue14 (SPN), Rehearsal Art Book Fair (US), GusGus 2021 World Tour, MUBI Notebook, NYU ITP 2023 Winter&Spring Show, SVA Motion Graphic Show 2020. Additionally, before starting her artistic creation in creative technology, she worked as a designer in many award winning design studios, including karlssonwilker, Office of Paul Sahre, and Transwhite Studio.
Shiqing holds a Master’s degree from the New York University Interactive Telecommunication Program and a BFA in Design from the School of Visual Arts in NYC.
Sherly Fan was born and raised in Wuhan, China. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Textile and Fashion Design from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an Associate’s degree in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology. She received her MFA from Duke University in 2023. Her works engage in multidimensional storytelling and interactive installations. Sherly Fan lives and works in New York.
She is a multi-media artist and filmmaker, her art is a dynamic exploration of innovative storytelling and multidisciplinary research, driven by a profound appreciation for the art’s impact on our everyday lives. Embracing the challenges of technological advancements and urges for diversity and inclusion, her work, rooted in a background in fashion and Experimental Documentary, spans mediums from film to VR/AR/AI technologies and performance art. Breaking traditional boundaries, she is particularly interested in combining and deconstructing different mediums to create unique narrative experiences that challenge norms. From art installations critiquing social media to experimental short films exploring unconventional narration styles, her work aims to engage audiences in identity exploration influenced by technology.
Cheng Gongis an artist and photographer based in New York. He holds an MFA in Photography, Video, and Related Media from the School of Visual Arts in New York and a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Arts of Design from Donghua University in Shanghai, China. Gong’s artistic practice centers on exploring cultural disparities between Eastern and Western societies through the juxtaposition of Chinese cuisine within Western contexts. His work vividly captures the conflicts and harmonies that emerge from these cultural collisions.
Cheng Gong’s artworks have been prominently featured in exhibitions both nationally and internationally. His solo exhibitions include the 15th Edition of Lianzhou Foto Festival in Lianzhou, China (2019) and the Barrett Art Center in Poughkeepsie, NY (2019). He has also participated in group shows such as the International Photography Exhibition at Downtown Arts Collective in Orlando, FL, USA (2019), the “Who Are You?” Exhibition at the Colorado Photographic Arts Center in Denver, CO (2019), and the China Lishui Photography Festival in Lishui, China (2019). His works were also exhibited at the 2020 Juried Art Show at the Maria V. Howard Arts Center in Rocky Mount, NC and “Still Life” at The Gallerium Art in Canada (2023). Gong’s artistic achievements and creative approach have garnered attention from various media outlets including Sinovision Net, Worldjournal, VoyageLA, Sina, China Daily, and China Underground. His work has also been featured in notable publications such as Kaltblut Magazine, Zero.Nine Magazine, Artistonish Magazine, Creative Quarterly, and Canvas Rebel.
Alice Yutong Hua is an interdisciplinary artist who works primarily in installation, image, and painting. Born and raised in Shanghai, Hua received a BA of Studio Art, minoring in chemistry and music from Colby College, Maine, and received an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2023. She now lives and works in New York and Shanghai. Her works have been shown in Three Shadows Photography Art Center, Cranbrook Museum of Art, Colby College Museum of Art, Untitled Space, and other galleries.
Xingze Li (b. Yan’an, China) is a visual artist based in Brooklyn. He has had solo and duo exhibitions in New York City at venues including Yi Gallery, Ortega y Gasset Projects, Tutu Gallery, and Hunter East Harlem Gallery. Recent group exhibitions have taken place at the Cathouse Proper in New York City, Little Berlin in Philadelphia, and Carlsberg Byens Galleri & Kunstsalon in Copenhagen. Notable awards include the Marble House Project Residency (VT) and 77ART Residency (VT). Li earned his bachelor’s degree from Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts in 2015 and his MFA from Pratt Institute in 2019.
Danyang Anna Song, originally from China, holds a Bachelor’s degree from Tsinghua University and an MFA in Ceramics, along with a Collegiate Teaching in Art & Design certificate, from the Rhode Island School of Design. Her professional journey includes working at the Institute of Tea Ceremony Art at Tsinghua University, and she is currently a faculty member and ceramic studio manager at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
Danyang’s artworks have been featured in numerous exhibitions at prestigious institutions and galleries around the world, including the RISD Museum (Gelman Gallery), The Blanc Gallery, The Ely Center of Contemporary Art , and the Kathryn Schultz Gallery, among others. Her work is also part of the collection at Tsinghua University. Additionally, Danyang has received several awards, including the 2024 NCECA Multicultural Fellowship, the Craftsmanship Innovation Award at The 1st Dehua Chinese Traditional Ceramic Biennial, and the Emerging Artist Award from The Cambridge Art Association.
Jingyi Wang (Chinese, b. 1989) is a New York-based visual artist who specializes in oil painting. Her artworks focus on the relationship between nature and culture. Observation and perception are the inspiration for her artistic creation. She associates the fragile with the acute, the serious with the humorous tones, the poignant with the longing. cacti-human beings reflect the biological and psychological aspects of life, approaching the subtle and intimate intersubjectivity of humanity. With these elements and colors, Jingyi Wang would like to extend human bodies to the ground and mother nature, creating space for dialogue and collaboration among humans and nature.
Jingyi’s works had been widely exhibited at Spring Break Art Fair, Art Miami, Art Herning, Art New York, Sotheby’s New York, Enjoy-Art Museum, Gallery Poulsen, Kates-Ferri Projects, VLAB Gallery, Mucciaccia Gallery, Lorin Gallery, Long Story Short Gallery, Cohle Gallery, Gallery Func, Gallery Ascend, Waave Foundation, Murray Hill Art Musee, etc. Her works and artistic achievements have been published on Hype Art, Meer, Journal of Contemporary Chinese Art, China Daily, The China Press, Sing Tao daily Newspaper, World Journal, Aesthetica Magazine, Create!Magazine, ArtMaze Mag, Planet China, Friend of the Artist, 100 Artists of the Future, etc. She was interviewed by New York Loungue, SinoVision. In addition, She was the recipient of the MOZAIK Future Art Awards 2022, and the Terra Foundation Residency Award in Giverny France 2015.

Where We Are represents four artists, Inna Babaeva, Kenta Furusho, Julia Wagner and Yukiko Nakashima, with diverse backgrounds whose works uniquely address the state of being “in-between”: between comfort and discomfort, life and lifelessness, meaning and meaninglessness, and the legible from the illegible. In today’s tumultuous, fast-paced world, the overwhelming flux of information and questions discourage contemplation. The present norm of exposure to endless images and videos deprives us of the processes necessary to reflect. Human development, furthermore, can only take place through slow transitions. It is by being fluid and embracing the metamorphic states of in-between that we come to understand meanings in the context of our everyday lives. The artists in this show focus on such indefinite conditions in our psyche and perceptions, and bring forth the series of works to induce deliberate thought-processing and introspection.
The unconventional assemblages of glass and mass-produced products such as paper and buckets introduce an unsettling balance in Babaeva’s work. The organic shaped glasses placed on the edge of a box, or clamped as non-functional medical flasks in a series called “This Time Tomorrow” create uncomfortable tensions in the viewers. And the same tension is released when the glasses are surrendered into the open, self-less water in the video called “Word of Mouth”. We can’t help but to ask, “Where is the breaking point and what is the language of non-utilitarian glasses?” Babaeva’s transformation of the materials twists our expectations of the everyday objects, pointing to the vulnerability of what we take for granted.
Furusho’s wooden sculptural series called “Fallen Branches” bear hundreds of scar-like engraved marks on the layers of densely painted surfaces. The effect is visually striking and eerie, as if we are seeing through the peek holes the colorful life the natural material once had. The spontaneous brush strokes in the “Muddying” series create a myriad of entanglements that call to mind the complexities of human consciousness. The repetitious lines form a mesh-like composition that anticipates something somatic and engulfing yet remains elusive. Furusho’s abstract works derive from our psyche and small scenes in life, and they remind us that moments of attention would reveal deeper meaning from the seemingly mundane.
Wagner’s poetic work executed in photography and sound art examines the definitions and the functions of language in our present time. The intentions of the cropped and distorted words are no longer to convey the messages, but to raise questions involving the unintended byproducts when text is misinterpreted or misused in social media. In her photographic series “Draft”, the innumerable words lay unread in the stacks, being stripped of their original tasks. Wagner’s sound piece called “You Are Here” touches on the issues of language barriers, and decommissiones the authority of standard English language by dissecting short sentences into mere sounds. Her attempt challenges the monolingualism in this country where the slightest accents can become targets of criticism.
The gestural marks of Nakashima’s abstract paintings are an amalgamation of broken Japanese calligraphy and smudged Western impasto. The near-graspable masses in one corner are found immediately disrupted by the forces of colors, becoming nameless forms that float, merge and drip simultaneously. The “Matter series” as she refers to them, reflect psychological states or fragments of memories, and they continue to evolve and mutate, preventing any attempt at cohesion, impossible to come together as a whole. Such incomplete states seem to both connote and honor her experiences of mixed-cultural life that can only exist in the “in-between”.

Li Tang Gallery presents Where We Are, an online group show from July 1 to August 31, 2024. This exhibition showcases the works of four artists, focusing on multiple art media and forms of presentation while exploring the state of “in between.” As curator Nakashima indicates, this “in-between” state lies in “comfort and discomfort, life and lifelessness, meaning and meaninglessness, and the legible and illegible.”
As a curator with a rich history of working as a multimedia artist both within and beyond the United States, Yukiko Nakashima has had the privilege of engaging with diverse artistic expressions and cultural contexts. Her curatorial work focuses on creating a platform for discussion initiated by the exhibiting artists’ works, which are based on lived experiences and perceptions. These works, in turn, invite viewers to reflect on their own narratives. This approach diversifies both the artists and the types of works presented while examining how the selected works convey the essence of each message effectively in its unique way.

About Curator
Yukiko Nakashima is a New York-based artist and curator who has an extensive history of exhibitions in the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Canada. Born in Hiroshima, Japan, and immigrated to the United States as a child, her abstract paintings reflect multiculturalism, diversity, and psychological matters. She received an MFA from Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers, State University of New Jersey in 2003. Her work has been shown in group and solo exhibitions at Li Tang Gallery, New York; the Clemente, New York; James Baird Gallery, Newfoundland, Canada; Foggy Bottom Arts Center, Washington D.C.; Evergreen Museum & Library, Baltimore; Fieza Projects, London, White Column, New York and Hpgrp Gallery, New York, to name a few. She is also a founding member of AAI (Arts Action Initiative), an artist collective that brings together contemporary voices on social and cultural issues through exhibitions and public programs.

Li Tang Gallery presents Materiality Unleashed, an online group exhibition from October 2 – December 8, 2023. This exhibition delves into the exploration of materiality in contemporary art, encompassing the physicality, texture, and inherent qualities of artistic materials and mediums. We encourage artists to embrace experimentation and push the boundaries of materials, allowing their chosen medium to guide and inspire their creative process.
Artists at any stage of their career are invited to submit their work for consideration by our guest jury Han Qin and Sun Young Kang. We had an overwhelming response to this call and received 1095 artwork submissions from all over the world. The overall high quality of the submissions we received made the jurying process a difficult one. The online group exhibition is curated by the Li Tang team. It will be promoted on the Li Tang Gallery website, social media, and press coverage in the United States and China.

While primarily focusing on digital art, Han’s work also extends to printmaking, video, installation, and performance art. Currently, She lives and works in New York and Hangzhou as an artist, and adjunct professor at Stony Brook University (New York) and China Academy of Art. Han’s work has continued to exhibit in the U.S. and China, including Nassau County Museum of Art, Roslyn, NY; Long Island Biennial, The Heckscher Museum of Art, Huntington, New York (2016, 2018); Open books, Connecticut College, New London, Connecticut (2018); Forms and thoughts: The 8th New Star Art Award Shortlisted Artists’ Group Exhibition 2017, Deji Art Museum, Nanjing, China, Han Qin: Where is Home, Long Island Museum, Stony Brook, New York (2017) and Changjiang International Photography & Video Biennale, Changjiang Museum of Contemporary Art, Chongqing, China (2017).
Han’s workflows from her experience of home and relocation. Moved from China at age 24, she feels the ambivalence between nostalgia and the wistfulness of transition. This encouraged her to create this uncertainty and spectacular feeling throughout her work. Interested in the social phenomenon of groups and individuals moving from place to place, she translated the moments of passing through, getting togethering, migrating, and even conflicting.
Sun Young Kang is a book and installation artist who creates physical and metaphorical spaces by incorporating various dimensions and metaphors associated with each material to challenge the duality fundamental to human existence. Originally from South Korea, she resided in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, PA for a decade and currently is based in Western New York. Kang received her BFA in Korean Painting from Ewha Woman’s University in Seoul, Korea, and her MFA in Book Arts/Printmaking from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA in 2007.
Kang has exhibited her work nationally and internationally, including solo and group exhibitions at venues such as Whanki Museum in Seoul, Korea, Nanchizi Museum in Beijing, China, Queens Museum, NY, Susquehanna Art Museum, PA, Carnegie Museum of Art, PA, Pennsylvania State Museum, PA, and others. In 2021, she was named the UAH Contemporary Art Fellow, funded by the National Endowment for the Arts at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, AL. She has also been the recipient of several grants and awards, including the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, NY; New York Foundation for the Arts (NYSCA/NYFA) Artist Fellowship, NY; the West Collection LIFT Grant and Acquisition Award, PA, PRIX Whanki 2017 from Whanki Foundation/Museum in Seoul, Korea and the Center for Emerging Visual Artists Fellowship in Philadelphia, PA. Her work can be found in numerous museum and library special collections.

New York, NY – From August 26 to September 8, 2023, Li Tang proudly presents a retrospective exhibition featuring works by twenty-seven Asian artists, each at varying stages of their careers and with diverse creative focuses. After dedicating three years to the Asian creative community and developing two years of online exhibitions, Li Tang is welcoming its first on-site exhibition, titled Echoes of Home: A Retrospective Exhibition of the Li Tang Community, at the RIVAA (Roosevelt Island Visual Art Association) Gallery.
Spanning from the vibrant streets of New York City to the glamorous landscapes of Los Angeles, and from the lively scenes of Atlanta to the indomitable spirit of Detroit, Asian creatives have left their marks. From time to time, they often yearn for a place to resonate as home. This exhibition was curated within this context, with the intention of creating a home for Asian creatives. It provides artists with a protective, collective, and innovative space to express their ideas and creations.
Collectively, these artists have created a portrait that captures how the influence of the Asian diaspora shapes the ever-evolving contemporary art world.

About Curators
Webson Ji is a New York-based Chinese multimedia artist and curator. He is the founder and creative director of the Li Tang community. His art practice focuses on the presentation of water, presenting the viewers with a unique interpretation of his meditation. Webson holds an M.A. in Sculpture from Savannah College of Art and Design, and a B.F.A. in Public Art from the China Academy of Art. He is a community leader dedicated to contributing and empowering the creative voices of the Asian diaspora.
Huixian Dong is a tireless curator, critic, and scholar. Her recent archive-based curation project has been established in multiple venues, including the Beijing Lu Xun Museum, Shanghai Museum of Sun Yat-sen’s Former Residence, Peking University, and Northwest University. As a critic, she has published numerous art reviews in popular media, as well as in the traditional media, Beijing Youth Daily. She recently shared her pioneering research on gender issues within Asian contemporary art with the discerning audience of the Art Association of Australia and New Zealand. The research paper found its home in Tainan Art Museum’s The Journal of Asian Arts and Aesthetics.

Li Tang is a New York-based community dedicated to amplifying the creative voices of the contemporary Asian diaspora. Established in 2020, Li Tang aims to feature the works and talents of today’s most innovative Asian practitioners working in the varied fields of art and culture.
Li Tang Gallery is thrilled to announce our open call for submissions for the upcoming art exhibition, Materiality Unleashed. This exhibition delves into the exploration of materiality in contemporary art, encompassing the physicality, texture, and inherent qualities of artistic materials and mediums. We encourage artists to embrace experimentation and push the boundaries of materials, allowing their chosen medium to guide and inspire their creative process.
Artists at any stage of their career are invited to submit their work for consideration by our esteemed guest jury Han Qin and Sun Young Kang. The online group exhibition will be thoughtfully curated by the Li Tang team and extensively promoted on Li Tang Gallery’s website, social media platforms, and through press coverage in both the United States and China.
Jpeg files should not exceed 1MB. Selected artists will be contacted for high-resolution images.
For video submissions, time-based or kinetic artwork can be presented in videos limited to 2 minutes. For security reasons, we cannot access sites with passwords or download attachments from the web.
We do not accept submissions via email.

HAN QIN
While primarily focusing on digital art, Han’s work also extends to printmaking, video, installation, and performance art. She earned her B.F.A. and M.F.A. in Printmaking from China Academy of Art (Hangzhou) and her M.F.A. in Digital Arts from Pratt Institute (New York) in 2017. Currently, She lives and works in New York and Hangzhou as an artist, and adjunct professor at Stony Brook University (New York) and China Academy of Art. Han’s work has continued to exhibit in the U.S. and China, including Nassau County Museum of Art, Roslyn, NY; Long Island Biennial, The Heckscher Museum of Art, Huntington, New York (2016, 2018); Open books, Connecticut College, New London, Connecticut (2018); Forms and thoughts: The 8th New Star Art Award Shortlisted Artists’ Group Exhibition 2017, Deji Art Museum, Nanjing, China, Han Qin: Where is Home, Long Island Museum, Stony Brook, New York (2017) and Changjiang International Photography & Video Biennale, Changjiang Museum of Contemporary Art, Chongqing, China (2017).
Han’s workflows from her experience of home and relocation. Moved from China at age 24, she feels the ambivalence between nostalgia and the wistfulness of transition. This encouraged her to create this uncertainty and spectacular feeling throughout her work. Virtual Exhibition Format: The selected curators will curate an online exhibition that will be showcased on Li Tang Gallery’s website. It is essential to consider the virtual space and how to effectively present the selected artworks to create an immersive and engaging experience for the online audience.
Submission Guidelines
Curatorial Proposal: Please provide a detailed curatorial proposal outlining your concept, theme, and vision for the online exhibition. Include information about the artistic focus, intended narrative, and any specific criteria for artwork selection (up to 500 words).
Curatorial Experience: Provide a current CV or resume highlighting your experience as a curator. Share your curatorial background, including any relevant projects, exhibitions, or collaborations you have curated in the past.

Li Tang Gallery presents Abstract, Distortion & Fragmentation, an online group exhibition from April 3 – June 23, 2023. From vivid colors and patterns to those who work in black and white or monochromatic approaches, Li Tang Gallery wants to invite artists who explore the areas of abstractions with no limitations on media. Taking from art’s historical lineage or blazing new paths in the field of abstraction, Li Tang Gallery wants to include artists who find new ways to connect with audiences beyond the figurative.
Artists at any stage of their career are invited to submit their work for consideration by our guest jury Chun Hua Catherine Dong, Phil Zheng Cai and E.E. Jacks. We had an overwhelming response to this call and received 1335 artwork submissions from all over the world. The overall high quality of the submissions we received made the jurying process a difficult one. The online group exhibition is curated by the Li Tang team. It will be promoted on the Li Tang gallery website, social media, and press coverage in the United States and China.

CHUN HUA CATHERINE DONG
Chun Hua Catherine Dong (she/they) is a Chinese-born Tiohtià:ke/ Montréal-based multimedia artist. Dong received an MFA at Intermedia from Concordia University and a BFA at Visual Art from Emily Carr University Art & Design in Canada. Dong has exhibited their works at The Musée d’Art Contemporain du Val-de-Marne in France, Quebec City Biennial, The International Digital Art Biennial Montreal (BIAN), MOMENTA | Biennale de l’image, Kaunas Biennial, Canadian Cultural Centre Paris, The Aine Art Museum in Tornio, Bury Art Museum in Manchester, Museo de la Cancillería in Mexico City, Art Gallery of Hamilton, Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, DongGong Museum of Photograph in South Korea, He Xiangning Art Museum in Shenzhen, Hubei Museum of Fine Art in China, Art Museum at University of Toronto, Varley Art Gallery of Markham, and so on.

Among many other grants and awards, Dong was the recipient of the Franklin Furnace Award for performance art in New York in 2014, listed the “10 Artists Who Are Reinventing History” by Canadian Art in 2017, and was named “The Artist of the Year” at the DongGang International Photo Festival in South Korea in 2018. Dong was also a finalist for Contemporary Art Award at Le Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (Prix en art actuel du MNBAQ) 2020, and awarded with Cultural Diversity in Visual Arts Award by the Conseil des arts de Montréal in 2021.
Phil Zheng Cai graduated from Sotheby’s Institute of Art with a master’s degree in 2014. He has held posts at Mary Boone Gallery and Phillips Auctioneers, and is currently a Partner at Eli Klein Gallery. Focusing on Chinese contemporary art, he has been with the Gallery since 2017 whose represented artists have been featured in countless international broadcasts, publications, and critical reviews.
Phil Cai has curated numerous solo exhibitions at Eli Klein Gallery, presenting Chinese contemporary artists such as Cai Dongdong, Chow Chun Fai, Shen Fan, Li Hongbo, Ho Kan, Ji Zhou among many others. He has also curated group exhibitions that received critical acclaim. His most recent curated exhibition “Alienation?” in 2021 was reviewed by the Brooklyn Rail. He has participated in panel discussions and talks at institutions such as the SCAD Museum of Art and the Asia Society Museum New York.
Phil Zheng Cai also works in the domain of art criticism and translation of texts on philosophy. His exhibition review “Enacting Disassociation – Jean-Luc Moulène Solo Exhibition at Miguel Abreu Gallery”; “Life as an Invitation – Yoan Capote Solo Exhibition at Jack Shainman Gallery”; “Tan Siyuan – No Stopping the Wanting to Stop” and critical essay “Take a Step: Phil Zheng Cai on the Opening of M+ Museum” were featured in the Widewalls Magazine. His most recent critical text “Everything can become an NFT, is it true?” was published by the New York Time T Magazine China. His translated book “The Story of Philosophy” was published by Shanghai Yuandong Press in 2020.
The paintings of E.E. Jacks capture life. Her intent is to imbue motion & emotion. Her work encompasses Expressionism and Representationalism. She also practices plein air painting, favoring oil paint as her medium of choice.
Jacks has received several awards and been featured in various periodicals. Her work has also been showcased in museums such as MOLAA, Olaf Wieghorst Museum, the Yellowstone and Yosemite Museums and been recognized and exhibited in the John Wayne Airport and California State Capitol. She is a poet and has currently published four books of poetry and prose.
E.E. Jacks has also been a gallery founder, published ‘APERO’ an international online and printed fine art catalogue, has juried many exhibitions and written numerous art reviews.
Jacks is a professional art advisor & curator of traditional & contemporary spaces. With long-standing artist & art community connections, Jacks can strategically acquire & integrate art into any lifestyle or aesthetic.
Jacks works from her home studio in Southern California and exhibits her work as a permanent artist at Quorum Gallery in Laguna Beach, Tirage Fine Art in Carlsbad and in various Galleries and Museums nationwide.
